Hermann Meets the Original Winnie the Pooh and his friends in New York Library

It was another long day in the office for Hermann, stuffed in the spectacle case to protect his mohair coat.  At least the office was air conditioned, so Misery was happy.

After work, Misery decided to take Hermann for a walk along 5th Avenue to the public library at 42nd, where Winnie the Pooh, and his friends, Heffalump, Piglet , Eeyore and Kanga have all retired since 1987.

They had a busy life posing for the books written by AA Milne, and have been resting at Dutton, the publisher,  in New York prior to being rehomed at the city Library in 1987.  They have a lot more space than Hermann does in the spectacle case, and it was nice for him to get out for some fresh air.

Winnie had changed a lot from when Misery had read about his expoits with Christoper Robin, as he was no longer a yellow bear. Perhaps bears go brown in old age.  Herman was wondering what colour he might be in 90 years time should Misery continue to stuff him loose in his sweaty pocket, or stuff him in the spectacle case with the greasy sunglasses.

Hermann said that Winnie could not be as old as it was claimed, as he could still do the splits at his age
All eyes were watching Hermann. Perhaps they all know he was a cheeky bear?

Misery and Herman agreed that Winnie does live in a grand house, over here.
